The Assistant General Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of The Grill, sundeck and Juicebar at East Bank Club. This role is responsible for managing all components in the front of house which includes ensuring exceptional member experiences, maintaining high-quality standards and information is properly communicated from management to staff and from staff to members. The AGM delegates tasks to staff in order to improve the member experience. Monitors the needs of upper management while continuously attending to the staff’s morale, performance, and good execution of service. The AGM leads the training of the FOH staff and is responsible for continuing education. Strives to develop the staff to the peak of their profession. Acts as GM and performs duties in the absence of General Manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Building Enduring Relationships Ensures all assigned staff is informed with respect to disciplinary procedures and handling of grievances. Establishes and maintains effective professional relationships with members to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Respond to guest complaints with the utmost professionalism and represent EBC at all times. Balance the member’s best interests with the company’s. Create Wow Experiences Displays expert levelknowledgeof The Grill service standards and procedures. Maintains complete knowledge of all menus, all ingredients, and all techniques including substitutions. Transitions dining room and staff seamlessly from breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner. Greet and acknowledge all guests. Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly. Accommodate all requests for information courteously. Monitor and ensure that all aspects of service conform to departmentaland EBC standards Strive to Improve Develops and maintain department control and cash handling procedures such as overages and shortages. Ensure that staff maintains a positive attitude and complies with all uniform standards. Ensure that staff maintains all uniform standards Maintain department records for all employees to be in accordance with Human Resources’ standards and regulations. Administer verbal and written testing to FOH staff of menu items as GM requires. Be one Team Leads, alongside the GM, a pre-service meeting to properly communicate to the service staff changes to food and beverage menu items, and expectations of the service ahead. Develops and oversee service staff schedules and payroll. Manage the set up and break down of dining room before and afterservice periods. Perform other duties as assigned by GM in relation to guest experience, staff experience, and EBC’s business well-being. Attend to the time and attendance punches of all FOH employees regularly and before the biweekly payroll data is collected. Requirements Schedule flexibility. Weekend and holiday availability are required Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the restaurant industry, full service. Training others in policies and procedures related to the FOH department. Providing exemplary guest care and hospitality. Multitasking while upholding attention to detail. Organizing own work, setting priorities, and meeting critical deadlines. Developing goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and work standards for the FOH department, including but not limited to those of service, budget, sales, and training. Leading by example and demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with members and staff. Responds well to feedback and constructive criticism and be able to professionally communicate information to others and actively listens Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Silverware, cost-of-sales, profit and loss Ability to work in fast-paced environment Excellent operational and problem-solving skills Willing to work 45+ hours a week when necessary Able to lift up to 50lbs Ability to work on feet for long periods of time Benefits Paid time off for full and part-time team members.
